FAYETTEVILLE – Fans will get their first look at the 2014 Razorback volleyball team Sunday (Aug. 17) afternoon when the team plays its annual Red-White Scrimmage at Barnhill Arena. First serve of the scrimmage is scheduled for 4 p.m. (CT) after Football Fan Day. The event is free and open to the public. Following the match, the team will host a meet and greet with season-ticket holders.
During the Red-White event, head coach Robert Pulliza and the Razorbacks will unveil their 2013 NCAA banner which commemorates the team’s selection to last year’s NCAA Tournament. Prior to the scrimmage, members of the volleyball team will also be in attendance at Football Fan Day at Bud Walton Arena. The meet and greet will including a Q&A with student-athletes and staff and a pizza party for the season-ticket holders.
Arkansas is set to play 16 home matches during the 2014 regular season including nine dates against Southeastern Conference (SEC) teams. Six of the Razorbacks’ home matches will be played against teams that advanced to last year’s NCAA Tournament. The season opener is set for Aug. 29 against Tennessee State with first serve at 7 p.m. Arkansas enters the year off back-to-back trips to the NCAA Tournament.
Season tickets are currently on sale through the Razorback Ticket Center online at ArkansasRazorbacks.com or by calling 1-800-982-4647. Fans can also visit the Ticket Center’s physical location next to Baum Stadium on Razorback Road. There are two pricing options for ticket packages with reserved seats at $50 and general admission at $40. New for the 2014 season, each purchase includes a free Razorback knit hat.
The Razorbacks return 11 student-athletes from last year’s team that advanced to the NCAA Tournament and welcome nine newcomers to the roster. Meredith Hays, a 2013 AVCA All-America Honorable Mention performer, is the lone senior on this year’s team.
