RB Duo Set To Join On The Air With Bret Bielema

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – “On the Air with Bret Bielema,” Coach Bielema’s weekly radio show presented by Lindsey and West Rock Coffee Company, returns Thursday night at 7 p.m. Combining for three rushing touchdowns in Arkansas’ season-opening win, the running back duo of Devwah Whaley and David Williams will be Thursday’s guests.

Live from the Catfish Hole for the ninth straight year, Chuck Barrett, the voice of the Razorbacks, will host head coach Bret Bielema on the one-hour show while fans can make reservations to attend the shows by calling the Catfish Hole at 479-521-7008. Tickets are $25 and include all you can eat dinner buffet with catfish, shrimp and chicken.

Arkansas will return to Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. against No. 23 TCU. The game will be televised on CBS.

Playing in his first career game as a Razorback against Florida A&M, Williams displayed his versatility with 71 yards from scrimmage and a pair of rushing touchdowns. A graduate transfer from South Carolina, Williams was one of seven SEC running backs to find the end zone twice in the first week of action. Williams totaled 23 yards on the ground while adding 48 yards on two receptions, including a 37-yard screen play in the fourth quarter that was Arkansas’ longest play of the game.

Whaley, who made his first career start last Thursday, turned in a strong freshman season in 2016, rushing for 602 yards and three touchdowns. Named to the Doak Walker Award watch list prior to the season, Whaley rushed for 60 yards on 12 carries against Florida A&M in just the first half. Half (6) of his 12 carries resulted in a first down while he scored Arkansas’ first touchdown of the 2017 season on a 5-yard run in the first quarter.

The show will be carried throughout the state of Arkansas on the Razorback Sports Network and locally in Fayetteville on 99.5 FM, 92.1 FM and 93.3 FM.
