Recruiting class adds NLI

FAYETTEVILLE – Head coach Chris Bucknam and the University of Arkansas men’s track and field team has announced the signing of Aaron Allen to a National Letter of Intent for the 2011-12 season. Allen is the sixth member of the Razorbacks’ current recruiting class. This marks the third Razorback recruiting class for Bucknam and his staff.

"We are excited about adding Aaron to our class," Bucknam said. "He has great range in a variety of events with exceptional skills in the 800. That 800-meter crew is a strong part of our program. Aaron is going to make a solid group even better."

Allen, a native of McKinney, Texas, specializes in the 400 and 800 meters on the track. As a member of the Boyd High School track and field team, Allen broke school records in the 400 meters, 800 meters and as a member of the Broncos’ distance-medley relay. Through the first few weeks of his senior season, Allen holds personal bests of 49.4 in the 400 meters and 1:52.9 in the 800 meters.
