FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas volleyball team will host its annual Red-White scrimmage Aug. 18 at Barnhill Arena with first serve scheduled for 4 p.m. (CT) at Barnhill Arena. The scrimmage is free and open to the public. Following the match, season-ticket holders are invited to "Pizza with Pulliza" to interact with head coach Robert Pulliza and members of the team. The volleyball event will coincide with that day’s Football Fan Day.

Fans will have the opportunity to purchase volleyball season tickets on-site during the Red-White scrimmage. Since fans 17 years and under receive free admission to Arkansas volleyball matches, they will also be invited to attend "Pizza with Pulliza" as long as they are with an adult season-ticket holder. Pizza and drinks will be provided during the interactive session with Pulliza and his team.

"We are certainly excited for the start of another season," Pulliza said. "This event is a great way for us to start our season and have an opportunity to interact with our fans. They will get a preview with our Red-White scrimmage, and with the fan event afterward, have the chance for fans to learn more about the sport and the players on our team."

During the Red-White event, the Razorbacks will unveil their 2012 NCAA banner which commemorates the team’s selection to last year’s national tournament. Prior to the scrimmage, members of the team will also be in attendance at Football Fan Day at Bud Walton Arena. The interactive portion of the volleyball event will include team demonstration, player Q&A, season preview from coaching staff and drawings for door prizes.

Four of those NCAA match-ups will be contested on the Razorbacks’ home court at Barnhill Arena. The 2013 season begins Aug. 30-31 with the Arkansas Invitational.
