GAINESVILLE, Fla. – University of Arkansas senior Corinna Rees posted a one-under 69 in the first of two rounds at the Florida SunTrust Invitational in Gainesville, Fla., Sunday.
Rees and the No. 22 Razorbacks are tied for seventh overall after the first round with a 298. Teams make the turn for a second round this afternoon.
Rees’ 69 ties her collegiate career low round and she has posted a 69 three times in her career – all this season. Rees had 69s in the final rounds of the Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate Classic and at the Las Vegas Showdown in the fall.
Freshman Emily Tubert opened with a 76 as did sophomore Victoria Vela in the windy conditions. Redshirt freshman Emma Lavy cared a 77 and senior Kelli Shean opened with a 79.
Play continues with second round action Sunday afternoon followed by the final round Monday.
