OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — University of Arkansas sophomore-to-be Summar Roachell posted a first round 71 and is in second place leading a contingent of current and former Razorback women’s golfers at the 99th Women’s Southern Golf Association Amateur Championship at Gallarida Country Club in Oklahoma City, Okla., Monday. Rochelle, a Conway, Ark., native, is one stroke off the lead of 70 shot by Martinek Shelby of Tampa, Fla. Shelby plays at the University of Arizona. Razorback sophomore-to-be Kayli Quinton of Pilot Point, Texas, is tied for third shooting 72 while sophomore-to-be Olivia Lavy is tied for 13th with a 75. Former Razorback Hally Leadbetter of Bradenton, Fla., is tied for third with a 72. Leadbetter won the event last year. Former Razorback Lucy Nunn of Lawton, Okla., is tied for 13th with 75 and Corinna Rees of Nashville, Tenn., is tied for 25th with 78, Players move into the match play portion of the tournament June 3-6. The Championship Flight features Rees taking on Baylor University’s Maggie Beth Byers at 8:46 a.m. Nunn matches up with Susan West at 9:10 a.m. Roachell takes on the University of Mobile’s Heather Nail at 9:34 a.m. Lavy squares off against Emee Herbert at 9:42 a.m. and Quninton faces Jessica Schiele at 9:50 a.m. Leadbetter faces the University of Oklahoma’s Maggie Neece at 10:22 a.m. For more information on Arkansas women’s golf, follow @RazorbackWGolf on Twitter.
