Roslov Done After Day One of SEC Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Day one of the 2008 SEC Championshipsis completed at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville. Boris Roslov was the lone Razorback to compete on the opening day.

To open the heptathlon, Roslov clocked a personal-best 60-meter time of 7.06. He finished second in his heat and second overall. He earned 861 points for his effort.

At the long jump, Roslov fouled on his first attempt. On his second attempt, he pulled the hamstring on his take-off leg. He was unable to recover, did not compete in the rest of Friday night’s events and will not complete the heptathlon.

Saturday’s prelims will begin at 2:50 p.m. for the Razorbacks with five entries in the 60 meters. The Hogs will also have four entries in the mile (3:30 p.m.), two in the 800 meters (4:50 p.m.) and four competitors in the 200 meters. The finals will be contested in the long jump, high jump and 3,000 meters on Saturday. Arkansas boasts four entries in the long jump, two in the high jump and six in the 3K.

Sunday’s finals begin at 12:30 p.m. with the pole vault and conclude with the 4×400-meter relay at 4 p.m.

The Razorbacks are on the hunt for Arkansas’ 83rd conference title (cross country, indoor and outdoor). The Hogs have won the last three SEC Indoor team titles and 10 of the last 11, including a seven-season streak (1997-2003).
