NCAA All-American … Opened his first season for the Razorbacks as the top finisher at the Iona Meet of Champions (Sept. 19) … Bested the field with the leading time of 25:59.30 … Competed in the Chile Pepper Festival placing fourth overall (Oct. 3) … Finished second for Arkansas posting a time of 23:38.68 in the 8K course … Raced in the Pre-Nationals (Oct. 17) placing 26th overall … Took second place for Arkansas runners in the 8K at Louisville, Kentucky with a time of 23:43.10 … Posted a personal record at the SEC Championships (Oct. 30) with a time of 23:32.50 … The personal record propelled him to a third place finish and continued a string of top two finishes among Arkansas runners … Tonui was able to once again set a PR on the College Station course with a time of 30:12.70 in the NCAA South Central Regional (Nov. 13) 10K … Crossed the line second for the Razorbacks and fourth overall and garnered an All-Region honor … Raced to a 40th place finish and an All-American honor in the NCAA Championships (Nov. 21) with a time of 30:29.60 … Crossed the line in second for Arkansas runners and ended the season finishing among the top two positions in every race he competed in as a Razorback.
At Iowa Central CC (2014)
Finished second and fourth respectively at the 2013 and 2014 NJCAA Cross Country Championships … His fourth place finish paced Iowa Central to their first ever NJCAA National Championship … As a freshmen at Iowa Central Tonui scored 23 points at the outdoor NJCAA Track and Field Championships … He finished second in the 10K, third in the 5K, fourth in the 1500m and fifth in the 3000m steeple.
