Appeared in 55 games with 51 starts primarily in the outfield before resuming catching duties over the final three weeks of the season…experienced career highs with .283 batting average, nine home runs, 22 RBI, 28 runs scored and 43 hits…landed on #SCTop10 after game-winning grand slam against North Dakota State (Feb. 12)…second on the team with 10 multi-hit games including a career-high three hits against Wright State (March 5) and South Carolina (April 9)…scored two runs in six games…enjoyed a nine-game hitting streak (Feb. 28-March 12) and later reached base safely in 12-straight games (March 16-April 2).

2015 | Sophomore

Appeared in 32 games including 28 starts … Tallied four home runs, second most on the team … Hit a go-ahead solo home run in the top of the eighth inning in Arkansas’ 5-4 win over South Carolina (April 11) … Recorded career-highs in hits (2), runs scored (2), and total bases (5) against Virginia (Feb. 21) … Three multi-hit games and three multi-RBI games … Season-long eight-game hitting streak between Feb. 15-28 … Finished 8-for-9 (.889) in stolen base attempts, including swiping a career-high three against Marist (Feb. 21) … Tallied two hits and two RBIs against Tulsa (March 10)

2014 | Freshman

Appeared in 20 games including 17 starts during her freshman campaign…hit first career home run, a three-run shot, against UMKC (Feb. 16)…tallied four RBI against the Kangaroos…scored 10 runs…tied for third on team with 19 walks in just 50 plate appearances…2014 SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll.

Before Arkansas

Hiers registered a .528 batting average, 20 home runs and 115 RBI during her prep career at Brooks County High School. She was named the all-region Player of the Year as senior to go along with region Offensive Player of the Year and first-team all-state accolades as a junior. Hiers was also a first-team all-region performer as freshman and sophomore. She helped lead the Trojans to three playoff appearances and played in the GA Dugout Club all-star game. Hiers played travel ball with Team North Florida in Ocala, Fla.

Personal

Born March 17, 1995, Shelby Renee Hiers is the daughter of Stephen and Christine Hiers and has three siblings with Carrilee Hiers, Gavin Hiers and Luke Hiers. Her sister, Carrilee, played collegiate golf at Bryan College. Hiers is set to major in kinesiology at Arkansas.
