Ryan Mallett sidelined for 2-3 weeks

FAYETTEVILLE — Sophomore quarterback Ryan Mallett will be sidelined for two to three weeks after injuring the ring finger on his throwing (right) hand in the weight room on Monday afternoon. “Ryan will not be able to throw the football for the next two to three weeks while his finger heals,” Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino said. “The injury doesn’t require surgery and we don’t anticipate that his injury will prevent him from participating in a significant portion of the voluntary off-season conditioning and throwing.” Mallett is listed as the Razorbacks’ starting quarterback on the post-spring depth chart. Pre-season camp begins on August 7.
