Salazar Falls In First Round At The ITA All-American

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Senior Jose Salazar fell in the first round of the 2017 Saint Francis Health System ITA Men’s All-American Championships main draw Thursday.

The 27th-ranked singles player in the country went down early to Georgia Tech’s Carlos Divar 6-2 in the first set, before evening things with a 6-4 victory in the second. Divar took the match with a 6-3 win in the third to knock off Salazar.

The Tenerife, Spain, native falls to 4-2 during the fall campaign, still holding the best singles winning percentage (.667) on the team.

Salazar will move on to the consolation round on Friday to face Tim Ruehl of Arizona State.
