Dominique Scott was named National Athlete of the Week as announced by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday. Scott helped No. 7 Arkansas take down top-ranked Texas Friday at the Arkansas vs. Texas Dual, earning the team’s first national award of the season. Coming in with an indoor mile PR of 4:44.78, Scott finished the day with a 4:38.49 win for the 2014 collegiate lead by more than two seconds over The Bowerman Watch List member Laura Roesler of Oregon. The time ranks fifth-best in school history. Later in the meet, she ran the final leg of the distance medley relay team that finished in a collegiate-leading time of 11:25.58. Scott and the Razorbacks will have the week off before returning to action January 31 as Arkansas hosts the Razorback Invitational at Randal Tyson Track Center.
