Seaton plays in All-Star match

FAYETTEVILLE — Kristin Seaton makes her Barnhill Arena debut Wednesday not as a University of Arkansas Lady Razorback but as a West All-Star in the Arkansas Activities Association All-Star game at 7:00 p.m. All-Star week is underway with the boys and girls soccer matches and the baseball game complete. Wednesday’s action features the best of three volleyball match at 7:00 p.m.. and a pair of softball games at 5:00 and 7:00 p.m., at Lady’Back Yard. All-Star week continues with a boys and girls basketball game and football. "It’s great for Kristin to play in Barnhill Arena," said Arkansas head coach Chris Poole. "She’ll get a little bit of an idea of what her new home feels like. We’re excited to have our second Fort Smith player joining us this fall and I can’t wait to get started." The former Fort Smith Northside Lady Bear comes to Fayetteville on the heels of graduating middle blocker Jennifer Haaser, a Fort Smith Southside prepster. Haaser, the first in-state volleyball scholarship athlete at Arkansas, was a three-time all-Southeastern Conference selection and ranked among the nation’s leaders in blocking during her career. Seaton, who plays both outside hitter and middle blocker, was a 2004 Prep Volleyball High School All-American and a member of the U.S. National A2 volleyball team. She was named one of the top 50 recruits for the class of 2005 and earned Arkansas River Valley Sports Athlete of the Year honors last year. A four-time all-conference and all-conference all-tournament team selection, Seaton helped the Lady Bears to the program’s first-ever AAAAA conference title in 2004 while leading the conference with 680 kills and 179 blocks as a senior.
