SEC Reveals 2016 Basketball Schedule

Complete 2015-16 Schedule

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Southeastern Conference released its 2016 men’s basketball schedule on Wednesday evening that features an 18-game slate for the Razorbacks with every contest appearing on national television through the ESPN family of networks.

Arkansas is slated to play home and home series with Texas A&M, LSU, Missouri, Tennessee and Mississippi State, while also welcoming Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Auburn and South Carolina to Bud Walton Arena. The Razorbacks will make road trips to Georgia, Florida, Ole Miss and Alabama to round out the conference schedule.

The Razorbacks open conference play on the road, tipping off the calendar year at Texas A&M on Saturday, Jan. 2 at 3:30 p.m. on SEC Network. Arkansas will play its SEC home opener on Tuesday, Jan. 5 against Vanderbilt at 8 p.m., before hosting Mississippi State two days later at 2:30 p.m. Both games will be televised on SEC Network.

On Jan. 16, Arkansas opens a stretch of three straight conference games against NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago, starting on the road at LSU, before returning home to host Kentucky on Jan. 21. The Razorbacks then go back on the road to battle Georgia on Jan. 23 at 5 p.m. on SEC Network.

Arkansas closes the year with four of its final six games at home, including welcoming South Carolina to town on Saturday, March 5 to cap the regular season. The 2016 SEC Basketball Tournament will take place March 9-13 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. The SEC Network will televise the first three days, while the semifinals and championship will be broadcast on ESPN.

Entering his fifth season at the helm of the Razorbacks in 2015-16, head coach Mike Anderson has posted a 66-9 (.880) record in Bud Walton Arena, including a 28-9 (.756) mark against SEC opponents inside BWA.

The Razorbacks are coming off a 27-9 record last season that marked the sixth-most wins in program history as Arkansas made its 30th NCAA Tournament appearance. The Razorbacks posted a 13-5 record in SEC play to capture the No. 2 seed in the SEC Tournament and advance to the championship game for the first time since 2008 and the sixth time in program history.
