FAYETTEVILLE – A tape-delay broadcast of the 2011 SEC Indoor Track and Field Championships will air Thursday at 8 p.m. (CT) on ESPNU. This year’s indoor conference meet was held Feb. 25-27 at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville.

The Razorback men turned in a runner-up performance with 136.5 team points. The team was paced with event wins by Tarik Batchelor in the long jump and the 4×400-meter relay. The relay foursome of Ben Skidmore, Marek Niit, Chris Bilbrew and Neil Braddy combined for an NCAA- and world-leading time of 3:05.13 to earn the program’s first-ever SEC title in the event. Among other highlights, Kevin Lazas extended his own American junior record in the heptathlon with 5,674 points in a silver result.

Arkansas’ women also finished the meet in second place with 118 points in the team race. For the second consecutive season, the Razorbacks came away with SEC titles from Tina Sutej in the pole vault, Shelise Williams in the 400 meters and the 4×400-meter relay team of Williams, Whitney Jones, Gwendolyn Flowers and Regina George. In defending her pole vault crown, Sutej set an NCAA collegiate record with a winning clearance of 14-10.75. Also, new school records were established in the 400 meters (52.10) and 4×400-meter relay (3:31.01).

Larry Rawson and Dwight Stones will handle the play-by-play and color commentary duties on Thursday’s broadcast. Both teams return to action this weekend at the NCAA Championships, being contested March 11-12 at the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium in College Station, Texas.
