FAYETTEVILLE – In recognition of her victory in the pole vault at the Razorback Invitational, Tina Sutej was named the Southeastern Conference Co-Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office Tuesday. This marks her second conference honor of the season. She was previously selected Jan. 17 following the Kentucky Invitational.
Sutej improved upon her NCAA-leading efforts in the pole vault, extending her best mark to 4.45m/14-7.25 this season. She won the event at the Razorback Invitational for her second win of the season and 15th victory in her last 16 competitions, dating back to the start of the 2011 season. The clearance also represented her second NCAA auto mark of the season. With the victory in hand, Sutej raised the bar to 4.55m/14-11 and took three attempts at bettering her own collegiate record.
