FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — University of Arkansas senior golfer Craig Lile was named the Southeastern Conference golfer of the week by the SEC media relations’ office announced on Tuesday. Lile earned the honor after winning his third tournament title of the season at the UTSA Invitational on Feb. 26-27 at Oak Hills Country Club in San Antonio, Texas.
Two-time All-American Lile has led the Razorbacks in all eight of the tournaments that the Hogs have played in and has finished in the top-20 in all of them, six times finishing in the top-10.
For the 2000 US Open participant, the UTSA Invitational title was the third title of the 2000-01 season and the fifth of his career. Lile claimed the Cleveland Intercollegiate title and the Southwest Missouri State Challenge title earlier this season.
Lile leads the Hogs in stroke average with a 70.5 average per round and has shot nine rounds in the 60’s this year alone.
Lile and the rest of the Razorback squad return to action March 12-13 at the Louisiana Classic in Lafayette, La. at Oakburne Country Club.
