Senior night is focus for Razorbacks

FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas football team finished its full workouts Thursday leading up to Saturday’s 6 p.m. matchup with UTEP inside Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. The 14th-ranked Razorbacks (7-2, 4-2, SEC) come into the Senior Night game against the Miners (6-4, 3-4, CUSA) averaging 482.4 yards of total offense, which ranks second in the Southeastern Conference and 10th nationally.

Head coach Bobby Petrino, in his third year and off to his best start at UA, noted it was important to play well in the seniors’ final game in Fayetteville.

"This is the last time they get to play in this stadium," Coach Petrino said. "They’ve done a good job this week of leading, making sure everyone was focused and practiced hard."

The Razorbacks seek their eighth win of the 2010 season near the top of the SEC in both offensive passing efficiency (161.4, 2nd) and defensive passing efficiency (114.82, 4th). Arkansas’ keen preparation will be a key against UTEP, which averages 34.8 pass attempts per game.

"We practiced well," Coach Petrino said. "We had a good practice tonight. The players that are not seniors understand that it’s up to them to make sure the seniors go out the right way. We need to come in, execute and play well."

The Razorback-Miner game will air on ESPNU. For more information on Arkansas football, please visit For more information on Arkansas football, please visit Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling 800-982-HOGS or by visiting
