BRYAN, Texas — The University of Arkansas women’s golf team made the final turn in a tie for fifth place while senior Kelli Shean has her eye on the top spot in the final round of the 2011 NCAA Women’s Golf Championship in Bryan, Texas, Saturday.
Arkansas is battling a challenging course, high temps and humidity and impending rain and darkness trying to finish the final nine holes.
Shean, one of two seniors on theteam,is in the midst of a brilliant round turning at three under for the day with four birdies and a bogey on 10-18. She was three-under for the tournament with rounds of 75-70-71 along with today’s scores. She was tied for second after the first nine holes.
Freshman Emily Tubert was even, while Emma Lavy was plus one through nine holes. Sophomore Victoria Vela was also plus-one and senior Corinna Rees was plus six with about two more hours of play remaining.
