Silver Wings To Parachute Saturday

FAYETTEVILLE -The University of Arkansas is proud to announce the US Army Silver Wings Parachute Team will deliver the game ball to Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium prior to the Alabama-Arkansas Football game on Saturday.

The game, which features 10th-ranked Arkansas and No. 1 Alabama, is the first matchup of top-10 teams in Fayetteville since 1979.

Presented by the Commanding General of the United States Army Infantry Center, the Commander of the 1st Battalion 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment, and the University of Arkansas Army ROTC program: the Silver Wings will provide this live demonstration of precision freefall prior to kickoff on Saturday.

The three-man team will consist of Dale Warner of San Diego, Calif., Edwin Schimmer of Phenix City, Ala., and Sean O’Toole of Hilo, Hawaii. Other support members of the team are Kyle Seamans of Oro Valley, Ariz., Jarad Davies of Patterson, Calif., Matthew Thompson of Norman, Okla., Cory Hood of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Collins Hollis of Coco Beach, Fla.

The Silver Wings are sponsored by the University of Arkansas Army ROTC Department. Military Science is the oldest and longest running program on campus, tracing it roots to the university’s establishment in 1871. The university’s five Medal of Honor winners are a symbol of the proud history of the University of Arkansas Army ROTC program.
