FAYETTEVILLE – The first real snow storm of the season was enough to send William and Mary back home after they were originally supposed to meet the University of Arkansas women’s tennis team in Fayetteville for a Sunday match at noon.
The Tribe got all the way to Chicago, but was called home after driving conditions from Tulsa to Fayetteville were deemed too hazardous for a safe journey. The match will not be rescheduled.
“We are obviously disappointed to not host such a quality match tomorrow,” said Arkansas head coach Michael Hegarty. “We fully understand the reasons and look forward to hosting Kansas next weekend.”
The Lady’Backs have another week off before hosting the Kansas Jayhawks on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 1 p.m. For more information on Arkansas tennis or any other Lady’Back sport, please visit LADYBACKS.COM.
