WHAT’S AT STAKE?

With a win over Tennessee, Arkansas would win its first SEC match of the year for the 10th time in 23 seasons in the league. Two victories would give the Razorbacks five wins through the team’s first seven matches for the eighth time in program history, and the sixth time in the last 10 seasons.

ARKANSAS QUICK KICKS

• In their last meeting with Tennessee, the Razorbacks got a goal from Claire Kelley in the 98th minute to pull out a 1-0 victory.
• The Razorbacks and ‘Roos have never before played. It’s the third time this season Arkansas will play a program for the first time.
• Ashleigh Ellenwood scored the team’s lone goal at Rice, heading in a corner kick in the 78th minute to bring the score within 2-1.
• Ellenwood scored three goals and added an assist at Yale, it was her first career hat trick in her 69th career match.
• Alexandra “Sparky” Fischer tallied her first assist of the season at Rice, when she had the helper on Ellenwood’s goal.
• After receiving votes in both the 8/25 and 9/1 NSCAA weekly polls, the Razorbacks fell out of the rankings completely for 9/8.
• Out of their 12 goals scored, Arkansas has six from open play, four from free kicks and two from corner kick opportunities.

WHAT ABOUT THE VISITORS?

• Tennessee redshirt senior goalkeeper Julie Eckel is the only player on the current roster who has defeated Arkansas in her career. Eckel earned the shutout after making nine saves as a freshman in a 4-0 Tennessee win in Fayetteville back on Oct. 2, 2011.
• Tennessee is coming off a pair of 3-0 home wins over Navy and Murray State. Anna McClung earned TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week honors after scoring a goal in each victory and Eckel garnered an honorable mention after posting her fourth and fifth shutouts of the season.
• UMKC is on a three-match winning streak in which the ‘Roos have scored an opening goal within the first ten minutes.
• UMKC’s top two scorers – Reighan Childers (3g-2a-8p) and Lexie Howard (3g-1a-7p) – are freshman. However, the ‘Roos are led in net by senior goalkeeper Nina Tzianos.
