FAYETTEVILLE — The University of Arkansas soccer team continues its season-opening home weekend by entertaining SMU on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Razorback Field. Arkansas began the year with Friday’s opener against Kansas and the homestand continues with Friday’s 7 p.m. contest against St. Louis. The Razorbacks are 1-0 following the 1-0 win over the Jayhawks. Arkansas scored a goal in the first half and held on to the win despite being outshot 11-9 for the match. SMU was 9-8-4 a year ago, including 4-3-4 in the Conference USA. The teams met last season with SMU claiming the victory. SMU leads the series at 2-11. "We had a very good Saturday training. The team is prepared. Their mentality is pretty special. They are just such a tough, strong group." head coach Colby Hale says. "SMU will be a fantastic test. They have some very good attacking players, will be organized and well coached. Sundays present a different challenge, but one that our team is prepared for. We are looking forward to the challenge.” For more information on Arkansas Soccer, follow @RazorbackSoccer on Twitter.
