Soccer promotions announced for 2009 season

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – In addition to the Razorback action on the field, the University of Arkansas athletic marketing department has announced its promotions schedule for the 2009 soccer season. Each of Arkansas’ nine home matches will feature a giveaway for the fans in attendance with Grandpa’s Oven "Shoot For Dough" Contest set for each halftime. A face painter will also be in attendance at each home match and the Kids Zone area will open an hour prior to each match time and again at halftime.

Arkansas’ home schedule begins with the Razorback Adidas Classic and fans can collect team posters and seat cushions during the home-opening weekend against Air Force and Missouri State. During the Razorbacks’ non-conference contest against Stephen F. Austin, kids wearing a soccer jersey will receive $1 admission in celebration of Youth Soccer Month (YSM). Water bottles and YSM hand fans will also be given out during the match.

When the Razorbacks open Southeastern Conference play against Tennessee and Georgia, trading cards and sunglasses will be available, respectively. Rally towels will be handed out during the Mississippi State match and replica warm-up t-shirts are the scheduled giveaway against Ole Miss. The promotions schedule rounds out with mini soccer balls and wristbands against defending SEC champion Florida and a team photo card in the season finale against LSU.

At halftime of each home contest, three young fans will participate in the Grandpa’s Oven "Shoot For Dough" promotion. Fans who successfully kick the ball into the net will return to Razorback Field on Oct. 30 for a chance to win $10,000.

The Razorbacks will host a pair of post-game clinics and fans will be able to get player autographs on designated days. Details will be released as they become available.
