Soccer student-athletes earn academic honors

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Twenty-four members of the Razorback soccer team were recognized by the University of Arkansas for their accomplishments in the classroom during the past academic semester. Four soccer student-athletes posted a 4.0 GPA to be named Academic Champions to lead the team’s accolades.

Megan Fawley, Kat Moffett, Erin Moskos and Rachel Smith posted a perfect grade average in the spring. Eight members of the soccer team earned a spot on the Athletic Directors List (3.50-3.99 GPA) and 12 soccer student-athletes were named to the Athletic Department Honor Roll (3.00-3.49).

“We are proud of the many academic accomplishments of our student-athletes,” Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long said. “These academic champions balance the rigors of a full-time academic schedule with the demands of practice, training and competing athletically in their given sports. This special group of student-athletes has demonstrated the ability to not only compete, but succeed both in the classroom and in athletic competition.”

The eight members of the Athletic Directors List are Kailey Anders, Sam Bolton, Rachel Carlson, Anna Heintz, Beth McVean, Kelly O’Connor, Kim Schleif and Sophie Wentz. The 12 soccer student-athletes named to the Athletic Department Honor Roll are Kelsey Allison, Whitney Allison, Ally Atkins, Camille Flores, Claire Hakim, Daniella O’Shea, Laurel Pastor, Lindsay Patterson, Kathleen Paulsen, Abbey Wilburn, Britni Williams and Kendal Winston.

In total, 190 University of Arkansas student-athletes—32 Academic Champions, 65 on the Athletic Directors List and 93 on the Athletic Department Honor Roll—were honored for posting a 3.0 or above GPA. For more information about Razorback athletics, log on to ArkansasRazorbacks.com.
