FAYETTEVILLE – The Razorbacks host South Carolina for a three-game weekend series starting on Friday, April 15. The first pitch is set for 7 p.m. at Bogle Park.

The Razorbacks are fresh off a series sweep from No. 10/11 Florida last weekend in Gainesville. The Razorbacks fell in each of the three games last weekend, but look to get back to the winning ways this weekend at Bogle Park. Senior Becca Carden had three hits against the Gators and freshman Chloe Oprzedek went 2-for-2 on Saturday with two base hits.

"The key for us this weekend is the same as I’ve said. It starts in the circle," head coach Mike Larabee said. "Our pitchers are going to have to come out and elevate their game and we are going to have to score some runs for them too. We have to get the timely hits, but we also have to play good defense behind out pitchers."

South Carolina has not faced a Southeastern Conference opponent since its three-game series with Alabama when the Tide swept the series. The Gamecocks topped North Carolina last week 1-0, but then dropped both in a doubleheader against non-conference foe Longwood over the weekend. Monday’s win over Coastal Carolina propelled the Gamecocks to their 20th win of the season and the 4-3 take over USC Upstate on Wednesday gives the Gamecocks a 21-20 overall record going into the weekend.

The Gamecocks lead the all-time series 23-14 over the Razorbacks going into the weekend. Most recently, the Razorbacks swept the doubleheader in Columbia S.C. last March. The Razorbacks have won five of the last six meetings between the SEC opponents.

Senior Becca Carden leads the Razorbacks this season with a .339 batting average. She has a team high of 23 RBI and 43 hits on the season. In SEC play, Carden leads as well with a .357 batting average and three home runs.

Rally Towels will be handed out to the first 300 fans in the gates on Friday for the 7 p.m. first pitch. Saturday’s game at Bogle Park begins at noon and will be broadcast on Fox Sports South. Sunday’s 2 p.m. start will be televised on ESPNU. 500 fans will receive Razorback Stretch Banners and an exclusive autograph session for Jr. Razorbacks will take place after Sunday’s game.
