FAYETTEVILLE – Some 200 tickets to the 2006 NCAA South Central Gymnastics Regional will be given away to University of Arkansas students as a special promotion by the UA Women’s Athletics Department.The tickets are first-come, first-served, and issued from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., at the Lady Razorback Ticket Office on the north side of Barnhill Arena. The tickets are only for UA students with a valid student ID. The tickets will be distributed while supplies last and students may only pick up one per person."We have always been so well supported by our students," said co-head coach Rene Cook. "We appreciate them coming out to all of our regular season meets and we’re glad we can give a few tickets back to those who have supported us."Arkansas hosts the six-team regional meet Saturday, April 8, at 6:00 p.m. Third-ranked Florida is the highest ranked team in attendance followed by No. 9 UCLA and No. 18 Arkansas. Also scheduled to attend is Illinois, Illinois-Chicago and Southeast Missouri State along with individuals from Illinois State and Texas Woman’s University.The Gym’Backs enter the meet as one of the top 18 teams in the country earning one of the coveted "seeded" spots in the draw. The top two teams from each of the six regionals will advance to the NCAA Championship hosted by Oregon State April 20-22.
