Spring season hits final stretch

FAYETTEVILLE – Off a successful weekend in Texas, the University of Arkansas volleyball team enters the final week of its 2012 spring schedule. Arkansas wraps up it spring competition slate with a home match Saturday against Missouri State. First serve of the match is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. (CT) at Barnhill Arena.

The Razorbacks played Houston, Texas State and Texas Tech at the Lone Star Classic College Showcase in Dallas on Saturday. Arkansas won two of its three matches with victories over Houston and Texas Tech. The team was playing without 2011 First Team All-SEC performer Jasmine Norton who sat out the weekend due to family reasons. Arkansas has competed at the Lone Star Classic the past two years.

Arkansas closes out its spring season this Saturday with a home match against regional opponent Missouri State. It will be the Razorbacks’ second home match of the spring. Arkansas and Missouri State will be playing for the third consecutive year during the spring season.

The Razorbacks began their offseason exhibition April 7 at Kansas in Lawrence and followed that with an April 11 home match against Tulsa. The Lone Star Classic College Showcase was Arkansas’ third competition date of the spring.
