FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Razorbacks tip off the 2003-04 season with the Red-White Game Saturday at 2:05 p.m. in Bud Walton Arena. The teams are evenly divided with sophomores Eric Ferguson, Kendrick Davis, Jonathon Modica, Rashard Sullivan and Wen Mukubu, and junior Michael Jones on the Red squad, and seniors Charles Tatum, Jamar Blackmon and Billy Pharis, and freshmen Ronnie Brewer, Vincent Hunter, Olu Famutimi and Preston Cranford on the White team. The Red team will be coached by assistants Rob Flaska and Oronde Taliaferro while the White unit will be coached by Ronny Thompson and Darren Sorenson.
Following is a partial transcript of head coach Stan Heath’s press conference.
“We should be ready to go. We took Wednesday off. Rashard Sullivan (back) and Jamar Blackmon (ankle) took a couple of days off for injuries, so it’s good to have everybody back. For the Red-White Game, we wanted to have balanced teams. It will be good for the fans and give us an opportunity to see everybody play with players that can do a little more and make it more competitive.
