Strathman, Hannam Earn Olympic Trial Cuts

FEDERAL WAY, Wash.- Ten Razorback swimmers competed at the 2015 AT&T Winter National Championships at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash. on Dec. 3-5th. Chloe Hannam and Madison Strathman earned Olympic Trial Cuts for their swims on Saturday.

Hannam kicked off the morning session for Arkansas swimming in the 200 backstroke. She raced to a time of 2:16.11 earning her Olympic trials cut. Her performance earned her a spot in the bonus finals. She finished second in the bonus finals heat in a time of 2:14.16. Hannam dropped almost two seconds in the 200 backstroke.

Strathman was outstanding for the Razorbacks as well. She competed in the 200 breaststroke time trial and was under the Olympic trials cut with a time of 2:34.77. Sydney Angell and Mary Margaret Soderberg also competed with Strathman in the 200 breaststroke. Angell finished in 3:41.92 and Soderberg finished in 2:43.24.

Senior Maddie Monroe and sophomore Caitlin Tootill raced hard in the 100 freestyle in 57.42 and 59.59 seconds. Jessie Garrison went 2:16.28 in the prelims of the 200 butterfly to advance to the bonus finals. In the finals, she went a time of 2:16.20.

Aiden Lister had an exceptional last day of competition. She finished 12th overall in the 800 freestyle in 8:47.51.
