Stripling soars at Missouri Southern

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Friday night, at Missouri Southern’s Joplin campus, Arkansas Razorback junior Katie Stripling improved her NCAA-leading mark in the pole vault and improved on her school record.

Stripling won the pole vault with a clearance of 14-4. She improved her previous NCAA and SEC best of 14-3.25. Her mark is a new personal best and improves her existing school record. She led a 1-4-5-6-8-9 finish for Arkansas in the event. Stripling now holds four of the five marks on Arkansas’ all-time list and a student-athlete now must clear 14 feet to earn a spot on the list.

Senior Sarah Landau finished fourth and second among the Razorbacks. She cleared a personal-best height of 13-7.25 and improved her regional qualifier. Freshman Tina Sutej cleared 13-7.25, also her collegiate best and an improved regional mark. She finished fifth overall. Both clearances of 13-7.25 tie for third in the SEC.

Junior Janice Keppler was sixth with her clearance of 13-3.5. Her new season best, she ties for sixth in the SEC. Sophomore Tara Diebold was eighth with a height of 12-7.5 and junior Kristen Keith was ninth, clearing 12-3.5.
