Sun Angel Classic awaits men?s track

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – No. 3 Arkansas Razorback men’s track and field will continue the outdoor season with a trip to Arizona State and the Sun Angel Classic this weekend.

The meet will be held Sat., April 11, at Joe Selleh Track at Sun Angel Stadium. Field events will begin at 1 p.m. CST with running starting at 6 p.m. CST.

A complete meet recap will be available at ArkansasRazorbacks.com shortly after the final event on each day of competition.

Arkansas’ entries for Saturday include Scott MacPherson in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, J-Mee Samuels in the 100 meters and 200 meters and a 4×100-meter relay.

Field entries include Alain Bailey, Daniel Quinn and Mychael Stewart in the long jump, Nkosinza Balumbu in the triple jump, Spencer McCorkel in the pole vault and Kyle Komarek and Luke Laird in the javelin.

Teams competing alongside the Razorbacks on Saturday include No. 16 Arizona State, Arizona, No. 3 Arkansas, No. 20 Auburn, Boise State, No. 24 BYU, Colorado State, Fresno State, Houston, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State, No. 7 LSU, Minnesota, New Mexico, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, No. 18 Northern Iowa, Syracuse, No. 17 USC, No. 14 Washington, Wyoming and Xavier.

Since the start of the season in March, the Razorbacks have recorded six regional qualifiers in five events. Additionally, James Strang, with the auto, and Lane Boyer, with provisional, have qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 10,000 meters.
