Swimming and Diving Fact Sheet #17

This WeekThe No. 19 Razorbacks send their divers, led by senior Madison Palmer, to Columbia, Mo. for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships this week. The meet runs all day, March 13-15 at the Mizzou Aquatics Center. Joining Palmer in Columbia arefreshmen Liana Bugslag and Alex Roman.

Last Time OutRazorbacks Erica Totten and Lynette Ng traveled to Austin, Texas last weekend for the Austin Grand Prix. Totten competed for her home country of the Republic of the Philippines while Ng swam for Singapore. Both girls aim to qualify for their respective country’s world championship teams. At the meet, Ng set career-high times in the 50 free, 100 free and 200 back. Totten broke four Filipino records over the course of the three day event, in the 400 free LC meters, 800 free LC meters, 200 IM LC meters and 400 IM.

In Poppell’s words (Austin Grand Prix)“Erica and Lyn had a fantastic weekend at the Grand Prix. Lyn swam personal best times and Erica broke her four Philippine national records. Her time in the 800 free improves her best time in the event by over 11 seconds. I am extremely proud of both girls.”

Totten posts Filipino recordsSophomore Erica Totten broke four Filipino records at the Austin Grand Prix, March 5-7. Totten set records in the 400 free LC meters (4:20.90), 800 free LC meters (8:59.19), 200 IM LC meters (2:23.59) and 400 IM (4:23.15).

Razorbacks finish regular season at No. 19In the final poll put out by the College Swimming Coaches of America Association, Arkansas was ranked No. 19. The squad began the season ranked No. 21 and rose as high as No. 18 over the course of its first-ever 10 win season.
