This WeekThe Razorbacks welcome the Kansas Jayhawks to the Arkansas Natatorium this Thursday, Jan. 22, at 4 p.m.

Last Time OutThe Razorbacks opened the spring schedule with wins over Kentucky and then-No. 23 Missouri on Saturday Jan. 10 at the Arkansas Natatorium. Arkansas swept past the Wildcats 164-134 and downed the Tigers 159-141. In her debut as a Razorback, junior Yi Ting Siow won each of her three events (100 breast, 200 breast, 200 IM). Senior Stephanie Carr won two events at the meet (500 free, 1,000 free) Katie Kastes touched fi rst in the 200 fl y and Lynette Ng picked up the win in the 100 back.

Scouting KansasKansas has won its past six duals en route to an 8-2 record this season and is 3-0 in its 2009 meets, holding victories over FIU, Miami and Nebraska–all road wins. In the pool, KU is led by seniors Danielle Herrmann and Maria Mayrovich. Herrmann was an NCAA-Qualifi er last year and specializes in the IM and breaststroke events. Mayrovich is KU’s top sprint freestyler. Kansas’ most impressive performance of the year came in its fi rst dual as they upset then-No. 16 Arizona State, 149-147 in Tempe, Ariz.

Razorbacks Ranked No. 19After an impressive showing in their fi rst dual meet since November, defeating Missouri and Kentucky on Jan. 10, the Razorbacks rose from No. 22 to No. 19 in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America poll. Arkansas was one of only two women’s teams to move up three spots in last week’s poll. Tennessee moved from No. 13 to No. 10.

Siow named SEC Swimmer of the WeekJunior Yi Ting Siow (right) was named SEC Swimmer of the Week by the league offi ce the week of Jan. 12 after winning each of her three events (100 breast, 200 breast, 200 IM) in Arkansas’ wins over Kentucky and Missouri on Jan. 10. Her time of 2:14.40 in the 200 breast is second-best in school history and fi fth in the SEC to date. It is also an NCAA ‘B’ cut time. In the 100 breast, Siow holds the third-best time in Arkansas history with a time of 1:03.04 and is fourth in the record books in the 200 IM with a time of 2:03.83.
