Teaming up for a Family Event

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Razorback Athletics is teaming up with the Bentonville Film Festival (BFF) for a family friendly evening at Bogle Park on Friday, May 5. The free event includes exciting Southeastern Conference softball action, a post-game movie screening and appearances by special guests from the world of film and sports.

It all starts with the nationally-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks’ softball team hosting Georgia in the first game of a key conference series. Academy Award winning actress and BFF Co-Founder Geena Davis will throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the 6:30 p.m. game between the Hogs and the Dogs. The first 100 fans at Bogle Park will receive a free BFF t-shirt and a Geena Davis autographed softball.

Following the game, fans are invited to stay at Bogle Park for a special screening of the film “A League of Their Own.” Davis earned a Golden Globe nomination for her starring role as Dottie Hinson in the film depicting the story of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League.

“I want to invite Razorback fans to join us for a memorable night of softball and cinema at Bogle Park,” Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long said. “This free event is a great outing for the entire family and a chance to cheer on the Razorback softball team while taking in a great sports movie. We appreciate our partnership with the Bentonville Film Festival and look forward to a fantastic night.”

“We are thrilled with the opportunity to partner with the University of Arkansas Department Of Athletics as part of the third annual Bentonville Film Festival” Co-founder of the BFF Trevor Drinkwater said. “BFF promotes inclusion with a passion to inspire young minds, a philosophy that is well aligned with the U of A and the great programs they have to support students who choose to come to school here from all over the world.”

The third annual Bentonville Film Festival is set for May 2-7.
