SEC Cross Country Champions Recognized by Chancellor In celebration of its 2013 Southeastern Conference (SEC) cross country title, the University of Arkansas men and women’s cross country teams were honored Tuesday evening with a reception hosted by Chancellor G. David Gearhart at the Wallace W. and Jama W. Fowler House. Gearhart and his wife, Jane, in conjunction with Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long, formed the initiative to recognize Razorback teams that have won an SEC Championship with a ceremony at the Fowler House, home of Chancellor and Mrs. Gearhart. The 2013 titles marked the 13th time the men and women were crowned conference champions in the same season during the 23 of years Arkansas has been a member of the SEC. Both teams crossed the finish line in 1-2-3 order to claim their victory. It was the 21st overall title for the men, fourth straight. It marked the 14th SEC title for the women’s team, all under the guidance of Coach Harter.
