FAYETTEVILLE – Running backs coach Joel Thomas took time to discuss offseason plans for improvement with RazorVision.
Coach Thomas talked with Chuck Barrett about the staff’s evaluations from the 2013 season and the importance of honest feedback. Coach Thomas also discusses running backs returning after an impressive 2013 campaign having motivation to improve for 2014.
Arkansas averaged 208.7 rushing yards per game in 2013 to rank fourth in the SEC and 24th in the NCAA. The Razorbacks rushed for at least 200 yards in seven of 12 games in 2013 after the team topped 200 yards rushing in six times in 51 games from 2009-12. Alex Collins was named SEC Freshman of the Year by the Associated Press after he became the 10th true freshman in SEC history to post a 1,000-yard season on the ground. The Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., native rushed for 1,026 yards, the highest total in the nation among freshmen. Collins and sophomore Jonathan Williams are the second duo in school history to each rush for at least 900 yards in the same season, joining Felix Jones and Darren McFadden.
