Tip still at 8 Students in for free

FAYETTEVILLE – The Razorback men’s basketball game with Mississippi State scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 28, at Bud Walton Arena remains set for an 8 p.m. tip and will air on ESPN2.

With impending winter weather forecasted to arrive in Northwest Arkansas on Thursday, the Razorback Athletic Department strongly encourages all fans to use their best judgment in regards to determining their attendance at tonight’s game and athletic events for this weekend. Fans attending athletic events should allow extra time and proceed with caution when traveling to and from athletic venues as well as when walking around the facilities.

As of Thursday afternoon, it is anticipated that game shuttles will run as scheduled. Parking lot capacity will be monitored and access to lots in closer proximity to the arena may be made available nearer to game time. Further details regarding potential parking availability to patrons will be communicated by parking lot attendants upon arrival.

As a courtesy to all University of Arkansas students on campus and in the area, the athletic department is offering free admission to tonight’s men’s basketball game. Students will be admitted by showing their University of Arkansas student ID card at any public entrance of Bud Walton Arena. Student seating will be located in the regular student sections located in the southeast corner of the arena on the lower level. Based on the number of students in attendance, the student section may be expanded into other areas of the lower bowl. Specific seating instructions for students will be provided be Event Management upon arrival.

"With forecasts calling for a significant winter storm, and understanding the uncertainty of potential weather conditions, we want to encourage our fans to use their discretion when determining whether or not to attend tonight’s game," Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long said. "Personal safety should be our fans first concern. In anticipation of reduced attendance due to weather, we wanted to reach out to those students remaining on campus and in the area to invite them to join us for tonight’s men’s basketball game against Mississippi State. Our students are a major factor in giving our student-athletes a home-court advantage and we wanted to use this opportunity to invite all students to attend"

As always we encourage fans to monitor ArkansasRazorbacks.com for schedule updates or changes on events throughout the weekend.
