Tough test at No. 11 FSU

FAYETTEVILLE- Arkansas’ soccer team played its first home game in almost a month on Friday, but now it’s right back on the road for possibly the toughest test to this point in the season.

The Razorbacks travel to Tallahassee, Fla., for a noon contest at No. 11 Florida State on Sunday. The Seminoles are No. 11 in the Top Drawer poll, ranked No. 12 by Soccer Times, No. 13 by Soccer America and No. 14 by the National Soccer Coaches Assocation of American/HendrickCars.com.

FSU is 5-2 with both losses to Southeastern Conference members, 3-2 in overtime at Auburn and 2-1 in overtime at home to Florida.

"They didn’t play on Friday and Saturday is a travel day for us, so they are going to be fresh," head coach Erin Aubry says. "Their losses are to two of the best teams in the SEC. It’s an honor for us to play them with all this adversity."

Florida State is the first ranked opponent for the Razorbacks this season.

This is the first meeting between the two schools.

Arkansas has already topped one member of the Atlantic Coast Conference this season, beating Miami, 1-0, in Fort Myers, Fla., on Sept. 3.

The Razorbacks are on the road next week for the beginning of SEC play, going to Tennessee on Friday and No. 21 Georgia on Sunday.
