Traxson Selects Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Razorback Soccer added a new student-athlete to the team on Thursday, raising the number of incoming freshmen to 14.

MaKayle Traxson, a forward from Athens, Texas, will join 13 other talented soccer players from across the country on an Arkansas team that recently concluded their 2016 season in historic fashion.

“[Traxson] has a raw and natural attacking quality,” head coach Colby Hale said. “She comes from a small club in Texas, but her upside is tremendous. She has great speed and instincts that are difficult to teach.”

Why Traxson selected Arkansas:

“I was born and raised in Arkansas when I was young. I fell in love with the coaches, players and the school when I camped and visited. The opportunities that Arkansas provides for their student-athletes to succeed after graduation stood out in a huge way for me.”

FC Force 99 head coach Andrew Liles:

“MaKayle Traxson is a high-scoring attacking player with explosive acceleration and top-level speed. Her ability to change speed and direction constantly threatens defenses. She is a creative, two-footed finisher who scores goals in a wide variety of ways. She is comfortable attacking on the flank or as a central striker. Makayla is a very hard-working player who has great partnership and chemistry with teammates.”

Dallas Texans head coach Kenny Wallace:

“MaKayle’s athletic ability surpasses 99 percent of up-and-coming college soccer athletes. Her speed and reaction time is one of her greatest assets, as she has this ‘glide’ to her run with and without the ball. Her change of direction and the manner of speed that this young female soccer player can do it with will leave opponents unbalanced on their back heels. She is not just all about speed as this speed can be repeated over and over again with the same high standard of skill on the ball.”
