Trio in Double Figures Not Enough at Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss. – Senior co-captain Danielle Harbin tallied the first double-double performance of her career and was one of three Razorbacks in double figures but the University of Arkansas volleyball team dropped a five-set road decision Sunday evening at Ole Miss. Harbin finished the night with a match-high 22 kills to go along with 10 digs. Barbara Dapic registered a season-high 14 kills while Savannah Voelzke posted a double-double of her own with 11 kills and 11 digs.

In the decisive fifth frame, Harbin had three-consecutive kills to erase a three-point deficit to tie the score at 6-all. Ole Miss (12-4, 1-2 SEC) led 8-7 when the teams switched sides of the court, and led 10-8 before Dapic had a kill to pull Arkansas to within one on the scoreboard. From that point, however, the home team scored five of the final six points to secure the five-set win.

After dropping the first set, Arkansas (3-12, 1-2 SEC) jumped out to an 8-3 advantage and led by as many as seven points at 15-8 after a kill from Dapic. The home team responded with a seven-point run to pull even. With the score tied at 18-all, the Razorbacks rattled off seven of the final nine points including back-to-back kills from Dapic to clinch the set win. Harbin put down seven of her 22 kills in the second set.

Ole Miss used an 8-1 run early in the third set to seize control of play and went on to take a 2-1 match lead. The Razorbacks saved a couple of set points before giving way. Ole Miss jumped out to a 5-1 advantage in the fourth set but Arkansas pulled even at 6-6 on a Voelzke kill. Featuring a pair of aces from freshman Reagan Robinson, the Razorbacks used a five-point run for a 16-11 lead. Arkansas maintained its lead and closed out the game to force its second fifth set of the year.
