Trio of Lady'Backs earn all-tournament

FAYETTEVILLE — University of Arkansas volleyball players Denitza Koleva, Amy Allison and Jessica Dorrell earned Arkansas Invitational all-tournament team honors last weekend. The trio led Arkansas to the tournament title and a 6-0 start – one shy of the best start in school history. Koleva and Dorrell earned all-tournament team honors for the second consecutive week while Allison is making her first all-tournament team appearance n 2006. Koleva hit .276 for the weekend and recorded her sixth consecutive double-double for kills and digs. She posted 19 kills against Sacramento State, 15 versus Stephen F. Austin and had 16 against Southeast Missouri. Koleva collected a career-best 20 digs in the five-game win over SFA and tallied 10 total blocks for the weekend. Dorrell has had six consecutive double-figure kill matches including a career-best 18 kills in the SFA win. She also posted a career-best 18 digs in the Sacramento State win while hitting .220 for the weekend. Allison was consistent all weekend with 11 kills in each of the three matches. She led the Arkansas blocking effort with 18 total blocks including eight against SFA. The trio and the rest of the Lady Razorbacks return to the court Friday taking on BYU at the Kansas Invitational in Lawrence, Kan. Arkansas faces the host Jayhawks on Saturday.
