FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Emily Tubert and Gabriela Lopez represent the University of Arkansas women’s golf team in their selection on
Golfweek.com’s players to watch this season. The duo was also selected as part of
GolfDiegest.com’s top 50 players to watch this season. Tubert earned selection to the
Golfweek.com Second Team while Lopez was picked on the third team. Arkansas tied for 13th place at last year’s NCAA Championship and returns four of the five student-athletes who participated. Senior All-American and All-Southeastern Conference selection Tubert and senior Emma Lavy have helped Arkansas to three consecutive NCAA Championship appearances including a program-best tie for fifth place Iin 2011. Tubert returns as the team’s leading scorer averaging 73.41 last year with two individual titles as a junior. All-SEC selections sophomores Lopez and Regina Plasencia also traveled to 12 events last season. Lopez was second on the team with a 73.77 stroke average and won the Westbrook Invitational as a freshman. The rest of the team includes a pair of redshirt freshmen in Olivia Lavy and Kayli Quinton and true freshman Summar Roachell, all of whom will challenge for traveling spots this year The Razorbacks opened the year with a sixth-place finish at the Dale McNamara Fall Preview and @RazorbackWGolf travels to the Mercedez Benz Collegiate Challenge Sept. 20-22.
