And They Are Off!
The Razorbacks have all teed off and the first flight of competitors are on the course. Temperatures are officially listed as 55 degrees which is a heat wave for this week. The winds are blowing about 20 mpg but the sun is out and it feels warmer than it is.
Arkansas freshman Emily Tubert got a lot of attention when she opened play on the 10th tee this morning. Tubert won the Public Links competition on this golf course last summer and will return in a few weeks to defend that title.
Senior Corinna Rees’ mom is here as are redshirt freshman Emma Lavy’s parents and Tubert’s dad. Razorback transfer Emily Podzielinski sent some family to the course to cheer on the Razorbacks as well.
The Warren Golf Course is a par 72 and plays 6,208 for this competition. Arkansas opened play from the 10th tee and has a par 36, 3,080 yards through the first nine holes.
There has been a hole in one on the 14th hole already this morning so stay tuned for good scores.
Remember that there are two flights of competitors this week as 24 teams and six individuals vie for one of the top eight spots and a chance to advance to the NCAA Championship.
