TV Schedule Announced for Big 12/SEC Challenge

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – ESPN has announced television network designations and start times for the third annual Big 12/SEC Challenge Presented by Sonic with Arkansas slated to play Texas Tech on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 3 p.m. on ESPNU inside Bud Walton Arena.

The meeting between the Razorbacks and Red Raiders will be the 78th all-time between the two programs, but the first at Bud Walton Arena. Arkansas has won eight of the last 10 meetings, while its last game against Texas Tech came in 2006 in North Little Rock. The Razorbacks won their last four games against the Red Raiders as a member of the SWC, averaging 98 points per game over that span.

All 10 games of the Big 12/SEC Challenge will air on the ESPN family of networks and will also be available via WatchESPN, accessible online at WatchESPN.com. ESPN’s College GameDay Covered by State Farm – the Saturday morning and evening roadshow that discusses the top storylines of the college basketball season – will originate from one of the Challenge games, to be announced at a later date.

The first two years of the challenge were played over several days in November and December but the 2016 event will be consolidated to a common play date on January 30, 2016. A bye in the league schedule for participating teams was created to accommodate the new format. Each of the 10 SEC teams participating in the 2016 Challenge will also play in the 2017 event.

The Razorback Ticket Center is currently accepting requests for 2015-16 Men’s Basketball Season Tickets. Seats will be assigned by Razorbacks Foundation guidelines with season ticket prices ranging from $360 to $450. To purchase tickets call 1-800-982-4647 or click here.
