Two Former Razorbacks Playing During NBA All-Star Weekend

A pair of former Razorbacks, Joe Johnson and Ronnie Brewer, will be playing as part of the NBA’s All-Star weekend festivities in New Orleans.

Brewer is a second-year guard with the Utah Jazz. He has started 51 games this year, and is averaging 11.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists.

He is playing in the T-Mobile Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam on Friday at 8 p.m. (central) onTNT. Brewer is one of nine players on the sophomore (second-year) roster playing against a team made up of nine rookies.

Johnson is playing in his second all-star game in his seven years in the league. He has started 45 games for the Atlanta Hawks this year, and has averages of 21.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.2 assists.

The NBA All-Star Game is Sunday at 7 p.m. (central) and is being televised by TNT.

Johnson and Brewer each earned freshman All-American honors at Arkansas. Johnson lettered in 2000 and 2001, and Brewer in 2004, ’05 and ’06.
