UA Releases 2002 Football Schedule

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Seven home games, including league matchups with Alabama, Kentucky, Ole Miss and LSU, highlight the 2002 Arkansas Razorbacks football schedule.
The 2002 schedule includes a total of 12 games as opposed to the customary 11-game regular season schedule. The NCAA voted to allow 12 regular season contests in those years that have 14 eligible Saturdays in the calendar from the first playing date of the season. In addition to 2002, 2003 and 2008 will include 12-game schedules in the current decade.
The home slate in 2002 includes five games at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville, Ark., as well as two home games at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, Ark.
Arkansas opens the season in Fayetteville on Sept. 7 when the Hogs host Boise State. After a road date at Memphis, the Razorbacks return home to host Alabama in the first conference game of the year.
Following a pair of road tilts at Tennessee and Auburn, Arkansas has a three-game home stand that includes Kentucky (Oct. 19) and Ole Miss (Oct. 26) in Fayetteville before the Hogs host Troy State (Nov. 2) in Little Rock.
Arkansas plays at South Carolina on Nov. 9 before taking on Louisiana-Lafayette in Fayetteville on Nov. 16. The Razorbacks conclude the 2002 season with a Nov. 23 game at Mississippi State and a Nov. 30 matchup with LSU in Little Rock.
Game times and television arrangements will be announced at a later date.
