FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas football team’s wide receiver unit is ranked No. 1 in the country in Athlon Sports’ preseason rankings. The running back group is ranked as the seventh-best in the nation and the defensive line is ranked ninth in the NCAA. The Razorbacks are ranked 16th in the preseason top 25 poll.
Running back Knile Davis and defensive end Jake Bequette were named preseason All-Americans, with Davis on the second team and Bequette on the third team.
Eleven Razorbacks earned preseason All-SEC honors from the magazine. Bequette, wide receiver Greg Childs and linebacker Jerry Franklin were first-team selections. Wide receiver Joe Adams, offensive guard Alvin Bailey, Davis, safety Tramain Thomas, quarterback Tyler Wilson and defensive end Tenarius Wright were second-team members. Kicker Zach Hocker and center Travis Swanson garnered third-team recognition.
