FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Adding to his SEC Player of the Week honor, Arkansas junior quarterback Austin Allen was named a Manning Award Star of the Week and to the Davey O’Brien Award’s “Great 8” on Monday for his performance in Saturday’s 41-38 victory at No. 15 TCU in double overtime.

Razorback fans can vote for Allen to win Manning Quarterback of the Week on the Allstate Sugar Bowl Facebook page. Voting closes Thursday at 11 a.m. CT.

The winner of the Davey O’Brien Quarterback of the Week Award, which will be one of the week’s “Great 8” quarterbacks, will be announced Tuesday. All 128 FBS quarterbacks were eligible for the weekly honor.

Allen went 17-of-29 passing for 223 yards and three touchdowns against the Horned Frogs. He led Arkansas to a touchdown in each of its last three possessions.

The Fayetteville native completed 4 of 4 passes for 58 yards and a touchdown on the Razorbacks’ 56-second game-tying drive in the fourth quarter. He threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to senior wide receiver Keon Hatcher and then caught the tying 2-point conversion from Hatcher with 1:03 remaining. In the first overtime, he connected with senior tight end Jeremy Sprinkle from 19-yards out before plowing through defenders into the end zone from 5-yards out in the second overtime to clinch the victory.

In each of his first two career starts, Allen has been lights out down the stretch, engineering game-winning drives in both contests.
