FAYETTEVILLE — University of Arkansas junior Sarah Watkins earned selection to Primetime Performers Weekly Honor Roll, CollegeSports360.com announced recently. Watkins, who earned Southeastern Conference Player of the Week honors Monday, helped the Razorbacks to a pair of wins, first over No. 25/22 Vanderbilt followed by a victory at LSU Sunday. The wins move the Razorbacks to 14-5 overall and 3-4 in the SEC. For the week, Watkins recorded her 11th game in double-figures with 21 points leading Arkansas to just the sixth win over Vanderbilt in program history Thursday. Watkins tied the school record with six blocks in the Razorbacks’ second win over a ranked team this season. Although not the leading scorer at LSU, Watkins dropped in eight points and went 4-for-4 from the line improving to 20-for-23 from the line in SEC games for 87 percent. Watkins currently ranks 25th in the SEC in league-only games for scoring averaging 10.0 points per game. She is fourth in the SEC in free throw percentage and leads the SEC in blocks per game with 19 rejections in seven games for a 2.7 block-per-game average. TheCollegeSports360Primetime Performer awards program goes beyond the stats and results, taking into account the quality of the opposition, contribution to team success and other situational factors (such as all-around play, leadership, clutch efforts, adversity overcome, etc.) for selection. Watkins is the first Razorback to be honored this year. Watkins and the Razorbacks return to the court Thursday traveling to Mississippi State for a 7 p.m. match up with the Bulldogs.
